More Updates & Service Packs

In addition to the updated tutorials, the following were recently added to the Autodesk Architectural Desktop Updates and Service Packs page for Autodesk® Architectural Desktop 2007:

Hotfix - Fatal Error During Save Published: 2006-06-14
Hotifx - Cut and Paste Published: 2006-06-30
Certified Hardware XML Database Update Published: 2006-06-12

Note that you need only update the acdb17.dll file from one of of the two Hot Fixes, as either currently provides version 17.0.103.50 of that file.

Hey David,
I came across your blog and I am happy to see there is some useful information out there. We are a Florida based office that is getting into ADT at the time. We have always used AutoCAD and we are in the middle of this transition. We have tons of questions and many problems to solve. This may be a little random but since you seem to know what you are talking about you may know. Is a company or some sort of private consultants that can come to your office and help you out during this transition? If you know anything about this I would appreciate if you can contact me. You can leave a message in my blog and I can send you my email.
Thanks!

Andi:
One option would be to contact your reseller to see if they offer any classes or consultation on transitioning from AutoCAD to ADT. If not, or you have already tried that and not liked what you received, there are consultants - some independent, some who work for resellers - who could help you out. I do not know of any in your area and do not know if your budget could afford to bring in someone from a distance [like Paul Aubin http://www.paulaubin.com/resources.php or Matt Dillon http://www.dccadd.com/ - either of whom would be excellent choices but may be difficult to schedule]. You might want to post a request for training proposals in the Autodesk Classifieds Discussion Group http://discussion.autodesk.com/forum.jspa?forumID=119 to see who is out there.

Paul Aubin also has a book out, Autodesk Architectural Desktop, An Advanced Implementation Guide http://www.paulaubin.com/aad.php . The bad news is it was written for ADT3.3; the good news is he, along with Matt Dillon, are updating it and expect to have the book out sometime this fall http://discussion.autodesk.com/thread.jspa?threadID=483323 .
